چکیده
In recent reports from this laboratory certain synthetic homioribopolyriucleotides have been found to possess anti-C' 1 activity (1, 2); of these, poly I is the most potent, as little as 0.0076 Mtmole P of this material being capable of inhibiting one C'H0,o (1). Attempts to define the mechanism of action of poly I by use of the R reagents were inconclusive, but suggested that C'1 might be most vulnerable to inactivation by poly I (1). In order to elucidate the mechanism of C' inhibition by poly I, experiments utilizing the kinetic analysis methods of Mayer and others were designed (3). The results of these experiments, with which the present report is concerned, indicate that poly I does in fact selectively inhibit C'1. In contrast to other potent C'1 inhibitors such as DFP (4) and the C'1 esterase serum inhibitor (5), poly I has no effect on C'1 esterase activity. In addition,

Abstract Background and purpose: Different laboratories have considered different maturation factors for producing human dendritic cells (DC) from peripheral blood monocytes. In this study, we comprehensively investigated the effect of adding poly (I:C) to standard maturation stimulus, i.e. MCM and TNF-α on the induction of T cell response. Materials and methods: Peripheral blood monocytes ...
متن کاملEffect of Gallic Acid on Reactivation of Acetylcholinesterase and Butyrylcholinesterase Inhibited by Diazinon in Vitro and in Vivo
Background and purpose: Diazinon is an organophosphate insecticide that binds to the acetylcholinesterase enzyme after metabolization causing its inactivation. Galic acid is a polyphenolic compound with nucleophilic properties. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of gallic acid on reactivation of acetylcholine and butyrylcholinesterase inhibited by diazinon in mice and human se...
متن کاملThe interaction of aflatoxin B1 with polynucleotides and its effect on ribonucleic acid polymerase.
1. The interaction of aflatoxin B(1) with different polynucleotides was studied spectrophotometrically. Equations were derived that enable the degree of binding to be determined without first determining the extinction coefficient of the bound form. 2. The interaction with calf thymus DNA obeys first-order relationships with an association constant of 0.40mm(-1), but there is some evidence for ...
متن کاملIn vitro and in silico studies of the inhibitory effects of some novel kojic acid derivatives on tyrosinase enzyme
Objective(s): Tyrosinase is a key enzyme in pigment synthesis. Overproduction of melanin in parts of the skin results in hyperpigmentation diseases. This enzyme is also responsible for the enzymatic browning in fruits and vegetables. Thus, its inhibitors are of great importance in the medical, cosmetic and agricultural fields. Materials and Methods: A series of twelve kojic acid derivatives wer...
متن کاملInvestigating the Bio-corrosion Inhibition Effect of Enzymes in Circulating Cooling Water System
To avoid the secondary pollution that inorganic corrosion inhibitor may cause in circulating cooling water, the bio-corrosion inhibition effect of lysozyme, catalase, lipase, and laccase, as the biologic inhibitors without the above problem, and the increased bio-corrosion inhibition effect of Ca+2 and Mg+2 are studied. An enzyme with corrosion properties was selected by rotary coupon test. The...
